  • Finished my paper early!

I have a paper due tomorrow and--can you believe it--I'm finished already!  Actually I was finished already at 1 o'clock.  I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now.  Usually I procrastinate until the last minute.  I always get it done but just in the nick of time.

I'm killing time until I go upstairs and work on our project.  Currently I am nailing lathe to the studs so that the drywall will fit correctly when we put it up.  Hopefully later this week I'll be insulating.  Sounds like fun, doesn't it?  All I have to say is thank goodness for the nail gun.  It takes half the time than it did last year when I hadn't used a hammer for years and proceded to hit my thumb, no joke, at least ten times.  I was livid.  Now it's a much more pleasant experience.  And I can use a hammer too, just for the record :)

I'm going to London this weekend to visit the family.  Joel has a wedding on Sat. and a service on Sun and can't make it.  My mom and I are going to take a roadtrip on Saturday.  We're stopping at a leather mill north of London where they make coats, mitts, you name it.  I got a leather winter coat with a liner for 20 bucks last year.  Then we'll probably go to the beach and hang out.

    Well, that's all for now...

  • Ho-hum

Here's a wonderful picture of Joel while we were camping (if it works).  Like the hat? :)

Not too much new over here.  Still watching Lost and Sex and the City.  Good summer time viewing...quite trashy actually.  Currently, Sahid has been captured by the crazy French women who's been on the island for over 16 years.  She keeps asking "Where's ALEX!!!" and then electrocuting him with a car battery hooked up to a metal bed.  Good stuff.

Got my AP scores back.  The students did really well, so I was happy with that.  Went into school today to meet with my curriculum director.  Even though we had spoke on the phone yesterday and he assured me he'd be there, he wasn't.  Waited for 45 minutes and then took off.  Waste of a 25 min (each way) drive.  Especially when gas is now at $3.15!!!!

Well, I've procrastinated long enough.  Time to do my homework for tomorrow...

  • I'm killing time while I wait for our new furnace and AIR CONDITIONING! to be put in.  Joel's cousin is in the heating/cooling business, so he got us a smoking deal.  I was inspired by Catherine's "What I Love About Summer" list and am going to attempt my own:

    - Sleeping in until whenever I want (usually around 8 or 9, which may not seem late but is actually 2 or 3 hrs later than I wake up during the school year)

    - My new Blockbuster Online subscription.  Lately, Joel and I have been partaking in "Lost"--so addicting.  Currently, we're left wondering what the 100lb when wet main female character has done to be an internationally wanted criminal and other such very substantive plot lines.  I've also, sheepishly, indulged in Sex and the City, season one and various random movies.

    - Getting up and going (i.e. no makeup, hair quickly thrown in a ponytail, whatever comfortable clothes I can find).

    - Going through my pictures and being able to dedicate several hours to posting, cropping and ordering those perfect camping pics online.

    - Camping at Tobermory (A yearly event, I'll post a picture on my photos link).

    - Reading.  No new Harry Potter to indulge in this summer, so my reading has largely consisted of what I have to read for class.  Currently, I'm taking a South African lit class and have been learning and reading all sorts of cool stuff.  Should come in handy in my teaching of Cry, the Beloved Country.

    - Not cleaning my house as we're making such a huge mess upstairs (tearing down plaster and such), so what's the point, right?

Hmmm...that about wraps it up.  Ah, I love summer!
